DURING THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC, THE POSIBILITIES TO GO OUT AND MAKE A NORMAL LIVING CHANGED, AND NEW ALTERNATIVES TO LIVE AND WORK WERE CREATED
This is another project we developed during the Covid-19 pandemic, based on an idea from a client to create temporary workspaces for people who either lacked access to a suitable space at home or simply sought to change location to an external space that could offer the same level of care as an indoor one.
The proposal was developed as a modular unit that could be transported by truck and placed at the desired location, available in two models: one large (Max) and one small (Mini). The large model would be suitable for one or two occupants, while the small model was designed for small groups.
The volume of the module is generated from a prism, with softened corners to avoid harsh forms, featuring low walls, clear peripheral glass, a light cover, and supporting columns, which also house solar panels to provide as much energy independence as possible. The exterior is clad in white glossy finish panels, and the interior ceiling is made of wood. Part of the exterior is designed with information stations, which can serve either as branding for the modular units or as informational resources for the city.
While this project was never realized, it was an interesting exercise for us in exploring new alternatives for spaces that could be considered in situations of social interaction with restrictions.
